Todd primarily handles campaign and election cases, constitutional litigation, complex civil litigation, and appeals. He also enjoys cases that have underlying scientific or technical issues.
A number of Todd's cases have received extensive press coverage in local and national media outlets. High profile cases, particularly those involving politics, present unique problems in terms of legal advocacy. Todd enjoys the difficult task of finding solutions that work both politically and legally.
Todd has served as General Counsel and Executive Director of the South Carolina Republican Party and has represented campaigns and other political groups at all levels. Todd has represented candidates for president, city council, and most everything in between. In addition, Todd has previously served as a member of the Republican National Committee by proxy, as Chairman of the Simpsonville Election Commission, and has held a variety of other public and private offices.
Todd is originally from Simpsonville, South Carolina. He attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review, the Order of the Barristers, and the Moot Court. Todd's undergraduate work was at Erskine College where he earned a B.S. with a triple major in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Between Erskine and USC, Todd attended Clemson University and performed graduate work in nanotechnology and analytical chemistry. Todd is proud to have started his higher education at Greenville Technical College, where he earned an A.S. degree before transferring to Erskine.
